The Gospel

I read this in my devotions a couple of days ago. I was in a pretty bad mood but these verses really encouraged me. There’s nothing like getting a good dose of the gospel when you’re in a bad mood. 🙂 (These verses are taken from Ephesians chapters 2 and 3).

“But God being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ- by grace you have bee

n saved… For by grace you have been saved through faith and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not the result of works, so that no one may boast… So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone… To me, though I am the very least of the saints, this grace was given… Now to him who is able to give far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

This should fill our hearts with thanks more than anything else this Thanksgiving season.
