Happy Birthday, Grace!

Gracie– Happy Birthday! I love you so much and am so thankful that the Lord has given you to me as a sister. We are so different and God has used that to grow us and reveal sin over the years and continues to… ๐Ÿ™‚ย  You are so patient with me. I love being able to talk about anything with you. You are such a dear gift to me and I am so thankful forย  all the evidences of God’s grace I see in your life. May the Lord RICHLY bless you with an abundance of His grace this coming year as you grow more into the likeness of Jesus Christ. LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!! Love, Bec

Dear Grace,
Happy Happy sweet 16! I hope that this year is filled with grace and that God will continue to use you! You are such a wonderful friend and a joy to be around. May your sixteenth year be filled with joy and adventure! ๐Ÿ™‚ Love you! God bless!~Lily

Dear Grace,

Happy Birthday! Wow. 16. You are so old! ๐Ÿ™‚

As I was thinking about what I should say I felt led to thank you for being such a great friend to me. You are a friend that I can trust and I know that the gospel is important to you. I can feel free to be silly around you without feeling like an idiot (even if I should) and you make every situation more comfortable and light-hearted. It is an evidence of Godโ€™s grace in you to care for me and to be friendly and outgoing towards others. Itโ€™s really encouraging to see you put aside fear of man (if you have any!) and show kindness towards others. God is at work in you.

Thanks also, for getting obsessed with things with me (4 8 15 16 23 42), for loving musicals with me, and for putting up with me (especially when I talk a lot). Thanks for all the photo shoots and costume making, which we really need to do again sometime soon. Thanks for standing up for me and especially for telling people it is pronounced Brontee (hence the two dots!). Thanks for encouraging me and for saying kind things to me, even when I say all the wrong things. Thanks for helping me get out of my comfort zone and for teaching me that improv really is fun.

Can you tell Iโ€™m thankful? ๐Ÿ™‚

I love you Grace, and again Happy Birthday!

Love,

Bronte (with two dots over the e)

Waiting…

Waiting. How hard it is to wait. We have a dream, a hope and when that dream or hope does not come to pass, we can’t begin to imagine why. It seemed so right in our mind.

God has a reason for every single thing we face, whether good or bad. He has a purpose and it is all for our good and His glory.

For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly. -Psalm 84:11 (ESV)

We often think that “our good” is getting what we want, when we want it. We think that it is always being happy, never feeling pain, never going through trials or hardship. But, God doesn’t think the same way we do. As much as we think we know what’s best for us, we don’t.

Think about the last time you went through a trial. I know that every time I go through difficulties and pain, I fall down on my knees and pray for strength and grace. We need grace most when we face trials. Trials force us to run to the arms of Christ because everything else around us is falling.

Our ultimate good is to be made into the image of Christ Jesus. This is the slow process of sanctification. Instead of looking for our hope and joy in this life, we must look to Christ for hope.

If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. -Colossians 3:1-4 (ESV)

As believers, what hope we have!! One day we will be with the Lord and we will see Him face to face! Wait on Him, dear saints! He is our shield, our shepherd, our life, our salvation, our joy, our satisfaction, our hope, and everything else good. He never lets us go!
